WRITING WITH PURPOSE.
HELPING WITH HEART.

I’ve always been drawn to stories... especially the ones that help people feel seen, understood, and less alone. As a journalist, my goal was never just to report, but to make a difference by telling stories that mattered.

Over more than twenty-five years, my work as a writer and award-winning photographer has been published widely through Black Press, Spirit of the North, a national magazine I founded and published, and a range of books and platforms reaching local, national, and international audiences. Across formats, my focus has remained the same: meaning, honesty, and the human experience.

As the media landscape changed, so did my work. I began helping businesses and organizations grow through purposeful, story-driven content, work grounded in clarity, accessibility, and respect for both audience and budget. Having owned several businesses myself, I understand the value of time, trust, and hard-earned resources. That perspective continues to shape how I work: thoughtfully, efficiently, and with care.

In recent years, grief, loss, and life transitions have become central to both my writing and my life. These experiences, including the loss of my brother, and later my parents, reshaped not only what I write about, but why. Much of that reflection happened outdoors, accompanied by my dogs, first Summit and now Denali, whose quiet presence became a form of steady support during the hardest seasons.

This understanding now informs my speaking, writing, and workshops. Whether working with individuals, communities, or organizations, including leadership and professional settings, my approach is grounded in story, presence, and the belief that meaningful work, creative, personal, or organizational, happens best when people feel supported rather than rushed.

Alongside my speaking and writing, I continue to collaborate on select creative and consulting projects through Gower Media, including content strategy, brand storytelling, and photography.

I believe the best kind of wealth is created by helping others grow, which is why my work is designed to be accessible, thoughtful, and aligned, never extractive or performative.

At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief:

every story matters, and how we tell it shapes what comes next.
